LKB1 promotes focal adhesion formation in HeLa-S3 cells. A.B. HeLa-S3 control cells stained with paxillin reveal small, peripheral focal complexes, which co-localize with cortical actin. C-E. Expression of myc-tagged LKB1 induces elongated focal adhesions throughout the cell body that decorate the ends of newly formed stress fibers.
