Calcium influx stimulated LH secretion in rat pituitary cells expressing RGS3. Calcium influx was achieved by calcium ionophore (A23187) treatment (100 μM for 3 h) of pituitary cells infected with 5 M.O.I, of adeno-RGS3. Adeno-RGS3 significantly inhibited LH secretion stimulated by GnRH (p < 0.05) but not by calcium ionophore (p > 0.05).
