Table 2 Rate of basal and cAMP-induced Mn²⁺-influx. Amoebae were challenged with 1 or 100 μM Mn²⁺ either with or without 1 μM cAMP. Cells were preincubated with 0.1 mM EGTA as outlined in Methods. Mn²⁺ quenching of fura-2-dextran fluorescence was tested in H5-buffer and is expressed as decrease in fluorescence units/sec (mean ± s.e.m.).
