Validation and extension of microarray analysis by quantitative/real-time PCR. Primer sets (see Additional File 1) were designed to target the Affymetrix probe set region of the selected genes and to amplify the region across exon-exon junctions whenever possible. Quantitative PCR was performed as described in Materials and Methods. Shown is the mean of all signal values obtained from 6 independent RNA samples.
