The process of IMPARO includes a Genetic Algorithm, which takes into account the Bray-Curtis Dissimilarity (BCD) and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test to calculate the fitness of a solution. The combined score ensures that the Microbial Interaction Networks (MINs) provided by the algorithm are feasible solutions. XN,T is the microbial abundance profile, with N OTUs, and T time points. X0 is the microbial abundances at the initial time point. \(X^{*}_{N,T}\), is the recreated abundance profile. f1 and f2 respectively are the factors BCD and K-S Test scores counting towards the overall score
