Mitochondrial and cytosolic thymidine kinase activities in rat tissues (a) and Mitochondrial TK2 protein levels (b). Mitochondrial TK2 protein levels were determined by immunoprecipitation followed by western blot analysis using TK2 specific antibodies. The band intensity was quantified and converted to ng TK2 protein per mg mitochondrial protein using recombinant human TK2 as standard. The results are presented as mean ± SD. A representative image from IP-western blot is shown. COX 4 was used as loading control in crude extracts before immunoprecipitation.
