Non-professional uptake of leukocytes into different host cells lines. Heated (56 °C, 40 min) leukocytes are co-incubated for 4 h with adherent epithelial lung cells (BEAS-2B), primary human fibroblasts (SBLF-9), pancreatic cancer cells (BxPC3) and melanoma cells (ICNI). The leukocytes have been isolated from whole blood residues from platelet donations and from EDTA tubes from healthy blood donors. A Kruskal-Wallis test detects a significant difference between the phagocytic capacities of BEAS-2B and BxPC3 (p = 0.005)
