PGE 2 treatment alters the TX-100 solubility of AJC proteins in Caco-2 cells. Representative immunoblots and densitometric analysis of E-cadherin (A), Beta-catenin (B), claudin-1 (C) and occludin (D) of insoluble (I) and soluble (S) fractions in Triton X-100 of cells that were untreated (0 min) or treated for 15, 30 and 60 min with 1 μM PGE2. In each case the score was calculated using the following equation: Arbitrary score= (amount of the protein in the soluble fraction)/(amount of the protein in the insoluble fraction). The score for untreated cells (0 min) was normalized as 1 in each case. Average scores S.E.M of three independent experiments are shown. Significantly different: * (P < 0.05).
