Isolated populations were seeded directly after isolation in growth medium, and before reaching confluence, cells were transferred to differentiation medium to allow myogenic differentiation. Differentiated cells were analyzed light microscopically and immunostained against Desmin and MHC to indicate their differentiation potential; cell nuclei were stained with DAPI. All populations were able to form multinucleated myotubes, whereas visually SP40/50 had the highest differentiation potential.
